Weekly writing prompts This weeks theme LET THE PICTURE TELL THE STORY
Why use prompts?
Prompts are a great way to explore different writing methods, practice our weaker fields, conquer writer’s block or just think outside the box. They help you to write about different subject matter, explore your creativity and Stimulate your mind. Many times when using prompts, they can become the beginning of a great story that you never realized you had in you. You will be surprised with what you can come up with if guided by a prompt.
Welcome to this weeks writer’s prompts. This weeks theme is “LET THE PICTURE TELL THE STORY”.
Each week I will be posting different themes, allowing you to exercise your writing technics in a wide range of fields. Try and set a goal for each story to be between 750 and 1000 words. You never know, one just may turn into a novel. Have fun! Feel free to post your stories too. I would love to read them.
How to use picture prompts.
Picture prompts are great to work with because they give so much detail. As soon as we look at a picture, our minds automatically begin to ask questions. Where was it taken? what was happening at the time of the picture? Use some of these questions to create your story.

- Which event did she win?

- What’s next for her?
- How often does she practice?
THURSDAY- What is she afraid of?

- Where is she?
- What is scaring her?
- Is she in danger?
- How does she overcome her fear?
FRIDAY – The talented Beagle
Pointers for your story
- Where did the boy get his dog?
- What is the dog’s name?

Thank you so much. I’m glad you liked it.
These are really good prompts for writing. I use picture prompts as a drama teacher and the possibilities are so vast. I really want to do some creative writing it’s just finding the time to dedicate to it. I will be checking back to your blog for inspiration
Thank you so much. Disciplining yourself to write can be hard along with finding the time. I dedicate two hours a night solely for creative writing. Nights work better for me because there are fewer detractions. No chores to be done, no dogs to be walked and I’m home from work LOL
Love this! It’s helpful. For me I find it sometimes hard to caption or let the image tell the story but what you just wrote makes lots of sense!
I’m glad it helped. Thank you!
Thank you, Tina, for mentioning my post. This writing prompts activity is really interesting. Good luck.

I have never heard of this method! I sometimes get so stuck in my own head when I’m writing an article. I can’t wait to try this. Thank you so much!
You’re welcome. It’s a lot of fun, picking out the pictures.
These are some really creative prompts, and would be of great assistance for those who’re in need. Thanks so much.

This is such a great idea for people that want to write. I’m already short on time since I blog and run a consulting business, but I need to do something like this.
Thank you. Finding the time can sometimes be an issue.
I think this is brilliant. It could work for bloggers and blog posts too. Don’t you think?
Yes, it can. Bloggers are writers too and this is a great way to improve your skills.
This is such a fun idea! Very creative and unique, that’s for sure.
Thanks!
I also had so much fun doing writing prompts. I would love to start doing them again.
I hope you do. There are so many benefits from doing them.
This is a great way to get the ball rolling on a writing assignment. Lots of new and fresh ideas can stem from a photo!
Sometimes I do this on my mood board, and attached some post-it note so I wont forget the possible topic of the picture. Indeed, a great way to exercise writing skills.
That’s a great idea. I’ve read about your mood board – great idea!
This such a great idea for prompting a post. I have never really thought about this before but will be doing it in the future.
It’s a fun way to be creative and get your juices flowing.
